Everything a new player usually asks.

These answers are intentionally concise. New players can use the in-game Street Guide for a guided path through the major systems while they actually play.

01What is The Thug Life?

The Thug Life is a persistent browser-based mafia lifestyle MMORPG. Your character builds money, level, respect, equipment, vehicles, property, businesses, achievements, titles, relationships and a criminal reputation over time.

02Do I need to download anything?

No. The game runs in a modern web browser. You create an account, sign in and play through the website.

03Does my progress save?

Yes. The game is persistent. Player stats, money, inventory, vehicles, properties, businesses, missions, gang activity, achievements and other supported progress are stored server-side.

04What should I do first?

Start with the Street Dashboard and accept the Street Guide when it appears. It walks you through low-risk crimes, the Bank, basic gear, missions and other systems in a practical order while automatically crediting actions you complete on your own.

05What are Health, Stamina and Willpower?

Health represents your physical condition, Stamina fuels many actions, and Willpower represents focus or nerve for demanding activities. Different systems consume or affect these resources, so watch them before taking risks.

06What happens if I fail a crime?

Depending on the crime and result, you may lose time, stamina, health or opportunity, gain heat, or be arrested and sent to Jail. Crime outcomes are part of progression rather than simple success/error messages.

07How does Jail work?

Some failed crimes and risky activities can result in a jail sentence. You can wait for release, use available bond options, and in some cases other players can help with bond.

08How does the Hospital work?

Serious damage or defeat can leave a player hospitalized. The Hospital is where health recovery and injury-related restrictions are handled. Some gameplay states may limit when normal recovery options are available.

09Can other players attack me?

Yes. PvP combat is part of the game when eligibility conditions are met. Equipment, health, level and preparation all matter, and combat can have real consequences such as damage, cash movement or hospitalization.

10What is the Hitlist?

The Hitlist is the bounty system. Eligible players can have contracts placed on them, and other players can attempt to collect those bounties through supported gameplay.

11Why should I travel?

Cities can have different stores, vehicles, races, casino venues and opportunities. Travel costs money and time, and an active vehicle can improve travel performance depending on its bonuses.

12What can vehicles do?

Vehicles can be collected, stored in garages, used for travel bonuses and entered into street races. Condition and upgrades can matter depending on the activity.

13How does Street Racing work?

Racing uses eligible vehicles and event rules. Entry fees, vehicle performance, player progression, condition, heat and risk can all matter. Players can also interact through supported race challenges.

14What are Missions?

Missions are jobs from underworld contacts and factions. They can include story, daily or weekly work, award progression, and build faction reputation. Timed missions persist while you move around the game.

15What is the Burner Phone?

The Burner Phone is your personal contact network. Discover NPC contacts by reaching their cities or working their stories, build contact-specific reputation, answer rotating daily and weekly favors, and collect rewards after completing the requested activity.

16Do story choices matter?

Yes. Certain completed story missions trigger a permanent Burner Phone decision. Your choice can change cash, respect, heat, contact or faction reputation and determines which follow-up story branch becomes available to that character.

17Do I have to join a Gang?

No. Solo play is supported. Gangs add deeper multiplayer systems including shared progression, headquarters upgrades, organized jobs, territory, diplomacy and wars.

18Are Gangs and Crews different things?

No. Gang is the official organization system. The game does not use a separate Crew membership system, so territory, organized crime, wars and group progression stay under one Gang identity.

19What are Gang Operations?

Gang Operations are cooperative organized jobs. Authorized Gang members can plan an operation, recruit participating members and launch it when the requirements are met. Successful jobs can reward the Gang and participating players.

20How do territory and Gang wars work?

Gangs can compete over the existing territory system and use diplomacy and war mechanics to challenge rivals. Territory can provide strategic and economic value, while wars create structured competition between Gangs.

21How do the Player Market and trades work?

The Player Market supports listings and auctions, while direct trading supports player-to-player exchange. Use the official systems so the server can track item movement, escrow and transaction state.

22Can I make money from businesses and property?

Businesses are long-term economic investments and properties are part of the ownership/progression system. They provide additional goals beyond crimes, missions and combat.

23How does the Casino work?

The Casino and nightlife systems include server-authoritative gambling such as slots, roulette and blackjack. Gambling is intentionally risky and should not be treated as guaranteed income.

24What are Ranks, Achievements and Titles?

Ranks reflect broader underworld standing using progression requirements. Achievements track permanent milestones and award achievement points, and some achievements can unlock selectable player titles.

25What are Street Challenges?

Street Challenges are rotating daily and weekly objectives based on normal gameplay. They provide focused short-term goals and can award cash, XP and respect when completed and claimed.

26Can I message or add other players?

Yes. Friends, profiles and private messages are part of the social layer and can be used to coordinate trades, races, Gang activity or normal conversation.

27How many accounts can I have?

The account limit is enforced using the game security rules and may consider known network or browser-security identity information. The current limit is shown in the Game Rules and Terms.

28What if I find a bug or exploit?

Stop using anything that creates an unintended advantage and report it through Support. Repeating, hiding or distributing an exploit can result in removal of gains or account enforcement.

29How do I contact Support if I cannot log in?

Use the public Support page. It accepts your name, email, category, subject and problem description, applies anti-bot/rate-limit protections, and sends the request directly into the Admin support queue.

30Can I reopen the tutorial after dismissing it?

Yes. Open My Account and choose Resume Street Guide. The tutorial runs inside normal gameplay rather than on a separate tutorial page, and anything you already completed will stay credited.

31Where can I read the rules and privacy information?

The public Game Rules, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are available from the site footer and public navigation. They explain fair play, account responsibilities, moderation, virtual assets, security information and data use in more detail.
